POO NEWS: THE CURRENT TRUMP SHIT IS STARTING TO STINK THROUGH THE WRAPPER

Trump’s latest controversies over taxpayer-funded ads, Russian diesel, Ukraine, and tariffs reveal a bigger question: do the policies match the promises, or are Americans being handed another polished pile of political crap?

Hello, and welcome to Poo News, where we cut through the crap, break apart the chunk, and figure out what the hell is actually underneath it. There is so much Trump-related shit happening right now that we could spend all day chasing every comment, insult, announcement, and distraction. That is not what interests me. I want to look at the stuff that actually affects people: our money, our jobs, our foreign policy, our fuel prices, and whether the story coming out of Washington bears any resemblance to what is happening once you scrape the political frosting off the turd.
A federal judge recently ordered a halt to taxpayer-funded television advertisements featuring Trump ahead of the midterms. His administration argued that the ads were legitimate government messaging, while critics said they crossed into taxpayer-financed political promotion. Trump has since said future versions will be paid for by MAGA PAC instead. That raises a pretty basic question that should have nothing to do with whether you love Trump or cannot stand him: why the fuck should taxpayers be paying for material that prominently promotes the sitting president during an election season? If MAGA wants commercials telling America how wonderful Donald Trump is, MAGA has plenty of money and knows perfectly well how to purchase advertising. The Treasury is not supposed to be a campaign wallet with an American flag printed on it.
Then we get into the Russian diesel situation, where the chunk becomes considerably harder to ignore. Trump has supported bringing more Russian diesel into global markets while his administration eased restrictions connected to Russian fuel, drawing criticism from both Republican and Democratic senators. Some have questioned whether the move conflicts with restrictions Congress put in place after Russia invaded Ukraine.
This is where the bullshit meter starts flashing. For years, Americans were told that Russian energy revenue mattered because it helped support Putin's government while Russia waged war against Ukraine. Sanctions were imposed precisely because energy is one of Russia's major economic engines. Now diesel prices are politically uncomfortable, and suddenly Russian fuel starts looking useful again. Yes, diesel prices matter. They affect trucking, farming, groceries, construction, manufacturing, and practically everything else that eventually lands on an American bill. But if Russian energy money was helping finance Putin's war yesterday, somebody needs to explain why that same money smells considerably better today just because fuel prices are pissing off American voters.
Foreign policy cannot be something we rewrite every time the numbers on a gas-station sign become inconvenient. If the strategy has changed, explain the strategy. If the risks have changed, show us why. What I do not want is another Washington pile where politicians wrap something in enough patriotic language that everyone is expected to stop asking what is actually underneath it.
The Ukraine side of this makes the contradiction even harder to swallow. Trump announced what he called an immediate energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, even though Kyiv and Moscow had not fully confirmed the agreement at the time, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was still waiting for details. Trump has also pressured Ukraine to stop attacking Russian oil refineries, partly because those attacks can disrupt fuel supplies and push diesel prices higher.
Now cut through the crap for a minute. Russia invaded Ukraine. Ukraine fights back and attacks infrastructure that supports the Russian economy and its ability to wage war. Then Ukraine starts hearing from Washington that it needs to stop because those attacks are affecting fuel markets. At the same time, we are talking about getting Russian diesel moving again. Trump supporters will say this is part of a broader attempt to stop the war, stabilize energy markets, and force both countries toward negotiations. Fine. That argument deserves to be heard. But actual diplomacy requires pressure and concessions on both sides. Otherwise, what we are calling peace negotiations can start looking suspiciously like telling the invaded country to stop making the invader uncomfortable because the economic consequences are becoming inconvenient for us.
That is the kind of chunk Poo News exists to dig into. I do not give a shit whether the person making the policy has an R or a D beside their name. If the United States is going to ease pressure on Russian energy while increasing pressure on Ukraine, Americans deserve to know what we are getting in return and whether this actually brings the war closer to an end or simply gives Putin more breathing room.
Then there are Trump's tariffs, which have been sold for years as the economic hammer that would bring American manufacturing roaring back. Tariffs are not automatically stupid. There are real reasons to protect strategic industries, respond to unfair trade practices, and reduce dangerous dependence on foreign supply chains. But there is also a massive pile of political bullshit surrounding the idea that tariffs somehow come with no cost to Americans.
American factories import steel, aluminum, electronics, machinery, components, and raw materials. When tariffs increase those costs, somebody has to eat them. Sometimes the company absorbs part of it. Sometimes the customer does. Sometimes businesses delay investment, cut jobs, reduce hours, or decide they cannot keep operating the way they did before. Associated Press reporting has documented workers losing jobs as manufacturers dealt with higher costs tied to imported materials and components.
That does not mean Trump's entire tariff strategy has failed. It means stop feeding people the simplistic bullshit that putting a tariff on something automatically means a foreign country reaches into its pocket and pays us. Economics does not work like a parking meter. If tariffs eventually lead to a major expansion of American manufacturing and create more good jobs than they disrupt, show us the numbers and I will happily say it worked. But if American workers are getting laid off while Washington keeps telling them they are participating in a historic manufacturing renaissance, maybe we should stop admiring the wrapping paper and look inside the box.
That is really the larger problem with the current Trump pile. The branding is so fucking loud that it can overwhelm the policy underneath it. Taxpayer-funded promotion gets called patriotism. Russian diesel becomes energy relief. Pressure on Ukraine becomes peace diplomacy. Tariffs become an automatic American manufacturing miracle. Every policy receives a giant shiny label before anyone has had time to open the package and see whether there is a steaming chunk inside.
Verbal Poo is not interested in spending four years screaming that everything Trump touches is shit. That would be lazy, partisan, and just as intellectually useless as pretending everything he does is brilliant. If a Trump policy works, say it works. If it fails, say it fails. If it helps Americans, give him credit. If it screws them over, do not polish the turd because you happen to own the same red hat.
Trump is the President of the United States. He does not own the government, he does not own the Treasury, and he does not own the people who disagree with him. He works for the entire country. That means we get to ask why our money is being spent a certain way, why sanctions are being changed, why Ukraine is being pressured, who benefits from an energy deal, and whether tariffs are actually producing the results we were promised.
That is not Trump Derangement Syndrome. That is what citizens in a functioning democracy are supposed to fucking do.
The most dangerous political crap is not any single bad policy. It is convincing people that questioning their preferred politician makes them disloyal to their country or their political tribe. Once people start defending everything their side does simply because it is their side doing it, accountability is already circling the drain.
So Poo News is going to keep digging. If Trump's policies work, we will say so. If the evidence shows they are hurting people, contradicting earlier positions, or benefiting somebody other than the Americans they were supposedly designed to help, we are going to say that too.
We are not polishing anybody's shit.
We are cutting through the crap, breaking apart the chunk, and looking at what is actually inside.
Poo News — because bullshit does not smell better just because your favorite politician stepped in it.
