Apple unveiled updated versions of its 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac on Tuesday, continuing a busy stretch of product refreshes. The new desktops and laptop use the company’s M6 chips and are set to reach stores on November 6, according to Apple.

Two Macs get new chips and AI features

The latest MacBook Pro and iMac join Apple’s lineup with the M6 processors the company introduced in August. Apple also said both devices include Apple Intelligence features, along with Siri AI support.

For the MacBook Pro, Apple said battery life now reaches up to 24 hours. The company positioned the laptop for a broad group of buyers, including college students, business users and creators. The iMac is aimed at families and small-business users, according to Apple.

  • 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999
  • iMac starts at $1,499
  • Both go on sale November 6
  • Both use Apple’s M6 chips
  • Both include Apple Intelligence features

Part of a broader fall product push

The Mac announcements follow Apple’s recent update to the iPad mini, which got a larger display and a new processor, according to the report. Apple is also expected to announce its first touchscreen-equipped MacBook on Wednesday.

Apple has increased the pace of its launches in the second half of the year, rolling out new processors, desktops, AirPods and watches, among other products. The company’s latest releases show that it is still working through much of its product lineup.

Why the Mac business still matters

Although Apple is best known for the iPhone, its Mac line remains an important part of the company’s revenue mix. Macs brought in $33.7 billion of Apple’s $416.1 billion in 2025 revenue, making the category the company’s fourth-largest by sales, according to the figures in the report.

By comparison, Apple’s iPhone business generated $209.5 billion, while Services brought in $109.1 billion. That context helps explain why Apple continues to update the Mac line even as it focuses on its other major products.

According to the report, Apple shares were flat after the announcement.
